Alysia Javis


Alysia Hodges trained with Janice Breen in jazz, tap and classical ballet and is now senior teacher and studio manager. She has worked as a dancer, teacher and choreographer for the past 22 years. In addition to her work at JBPS, Alysia currently lectures in technique and performance for the BA Dance degree program at the Wesley Institute and works as a dance and arts consultant within a variety of education settings. Alysia holds a BA (Communications) and is currently completing an honours degree in Dance Education with the Royal Academy of Dance.

Alysia’s choreographic and production credits include: assistant choreographer on the Opening and Closing Ceremonies of the Sydney 2000 Olympic Games, Paralympic Opening ceremonies, 2003 Rugby World Cup Opening ceremomy and 2003 NFL Superbowl half time show as well as work for stage, television, advertising and corporate entertainment. Alysia’s long standing association with the Randwick Girls/ Boys Rock Eisteddfod team has seen them achieve a high level of success . They have won the NSW State competition 5 times and the National competition in 2002, 2007 and 2011. In 2011 the Randwick team were awarded 2nd place in the Global competition judged across 5 countries.
